From down under, looking up

Give me a home among the gum trees and I’ll give you a company whose roots are firmly aligned with Australian values of humility, mateship and giving everyone a fair go.

As an Australian-made company and in the lead up to Australia Day, we at Arbortech are proud to be a part of the celebration of Australian-Made Month. Founded in the early 80s by our visionary founder, Kevin Inkster, we have been at the forefront of innovation in the power carving and masonry restoration industry with the Allsaw patented technology.

Australia has a proud history of innovation. From WiFi to the invention of the black box, Australians have been at the forefront of many technological advancements over the years, and we are proud to continue that tradition with our cutting-edge tools. As the most isolated city in the world, Perth presented and still does present a unique set of challenges in terms of accessibility to new technologies and innovations. This has fueled both Kevin and the company's clever problem solving, creativity and resourcefulness over the years. This set of challenges also never deterred Kevin, as he saw the opportunity to create something new and innovative that would cater to the needs of the woodworking industry, with the revolutionary Industrial Woodcarver Blade. And thus, Arbortech was born.

We have developed a range of cutting-edge tools and attachments that are designed to make the process of carving wood and other materials faster, easier, safer, more precise and more enjoyable. Our current AS175 Masonry Restoration Saw is a revolution in itself - designed to provide the user with a much safer experience than comparative products such as diamond blades which are notoriously dangerous to use. It is a great option for masonry and heritage restoration work where health, safety and overall project efficiency is a must.

On the other hand our signature product, the Arbortech Industrial Woodcarver, is a must-have for any woodworker looking to take their craft to the next level. What started off as a crude, DIY carving wheel is now a highly engineered, performance wood carving blade used around the world by wood artists, carpenters and hobbyists alike.

a shining example of what it means to be an Australian-made success

But our success goes beyond just our innovative products. We have a strong commitment to sustainability, using only the highest-quality materials in our products and manufacturing processes where we can. A great example of this is the evolution of our product packaging, you can learn more by reading our story Adios Plastic Packaging. So we continue to work hard to keep most of our processes in Australia, as our commitment to our customers receiving quality products is a big part of our company culture and brand. We are now taking steps towards becoming BCORP certified, which is an internationally recognised certification for companies that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.

The power carving and woodworking industry in Australia and around the world has seen a significant growth in recent years, with more and more people turning to woodworking as a hobby or profession. The pandemic has also played a major role in this growth as people have been spending more time at home and have been looking for new hobbies to take up for interest, enjoyment and mental health reasons. Woodworking is a great hobby that can be done at home and people are taking advantage of the opportunity to create and build things. This has led to an increase in demand for high-quality power carving tools and equipment. The industry has seen a surge in popularity due to the increased access to educational resources and workshops, as well as the growing interest in sustainable and eco-friendly practices.

We at Arbortech are a shining example of what it means to be an Australian-made success. Our innovative products, commitment to sustainability, dedication to customer service, and drive towards becoming BCORP certified, make us a true leader in the power carving and masonry fields. If you're in the market for a power carving tool or an AS175, look no further than Arbortech. Happy Australian-Made Month!
