Some people get competitive, some procrastinate and have to carve like crazy in the final hours, and others surprise themselves with how their vision turned out.
Then comes competition day. There’s food, there’s live music, the beers flow and the sun shines. It’s a whole thing.
The idea is that we all get to use the products that we spend every day talking about and one particular graphic designer can take his creativity away from the computer and into wood and uphold his legacy by winning the most votes…again (in fairness, he creates some pretty amazing things).
This year was no different and some truly incredible pieces came out. Everything from the Mad Hatter’s hat, to a life-size cockatoo, a retro race car and even the leaning tower of Pisa - that actually leans!
Last year we had a few new staffers who hadn’t had much of a chance to use the Arbortech tools, but a year on they showed us they are fast learners!
The build up to the staff day is always high energy and excitement, and the whole process makes us all appreciate how great the tools are and what they can do.
